Elisha’s Info
I consider it an honor to be able to sit with people in their hardships. I engage with others in a highly-relational approach, knowing that healthy relationships are a key component to living whole. Oftentimes we feel stuck in the hard things, in past hurts, or in emotional and mental unwellness, and need new tools for our tool belts to manage and overcome the obstacles we’re facing. I want to support people in that process. I believe we were created with a purpose, each of us with unique gifts and abilities with a plan to live life to the full. Sometimes we get into seasons of life where we can’t see clearly and need help believing and knowing those truths.
My goal is to create a space for clients to feel emotionally safe and relationally accepted so that they are able to talk about the hard things in life. Clients can expect me to be fully present and committed to walking with them through the change process and the healing of emotional wounds. I am determined to listen, seek to understand their situation and perspectives, and work with them to achieve their therapy goals.
I studied Social Work at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and then achieved my Masters at Indiana Wesleyan University. I have over 14 years of experience working with at-risk youth and their families, including time at Gracehaven serving teenage girls who are victims/survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. My years as a case manager for community clients as well as my Masters Program grew me into the therapist I am today.
I specialize in working with adults and children with Anxiety/Depression, Trauma and Attachment/Adoption issues, relational hurts, grief and loss . I have experience with Dual Diagnosis, Anger Management, ADHD in youth, and the foster care system.
I am especially interested in working with individuals who want to integrate their Christian faith into sessions, as well as working with believers who hold leadership positions in the church and need a safe space to process the unique elements of Christian leaders in ministry. I have extensive experience in serving in the church, providing biblical counsel and discipleship with both adolescents and adults.
