Tired? Overwhelmed? Anxious? Discouraged? At the end of yourself? Research has shown that Americans are struggling now more than ever. You do not have to struggle alone. Hi, I’m Gillian Sapp, Licensed Social Worker and through my own struggles with anxiety, God has given me a passion, compassion and patience in working with those who are struggling. You may have hoped to find a quick fix already. Maybe you have tried deep breathing or forcing yourself to be different but without understanding your emotions and why you are feeling them you will be disappointed. That is why I am so passionate to build trust with my clients and dive into topics you may not have felt comfortable sharing with anyone else.

I have a desire for my clients to feel seen and understood. I will come alongside you with sensitivity, encouragement and a heart to illuminate your strengths so you can find the light you are looking for.
Gillian’s Style:
Opening up in therapy can feel like a risk but my sensitive, empathetic and nurturing approach to working with clients is unique. I have been there. I have personally found healing in my own struggles and would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey. I will work hard for you to find solutions and provide support for you through difficult times.
Therapy with me starts with empathy for your story and I will work with you to know yourself better and learn how your thoughts, behaviors and feelings are connected and where they are coming from. I specialize in working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, panic and ADHD. At your request, I am passionate about incorporating faith into therapy as I have seen the importance of a holistic approach to healing.

Education and Training:
Gillian received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University. She went on the complete her master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University as well. Gillian has experience working inpatient with children and families dealing with crisis. She also has had experience in community mental health, doing prevention work. Meeting with clients in the therapy setting has become a passion of Gillian’s, that began with her internship here at LWC!
While working on her degrees, Gillian served as a Younglife leader and led middle school small groups at her church. Now, she leads a ministry called Fostering Love, that serves fostering families and provides respite for them.
