Mitzi Moody LISW-S
Mitzi received her Master’s in Social Work degree from California State University, Sacramento and her dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of California, Davis. Mitzi is certified by the state of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as an Independent Licensed Social Worker with supervision designation.
Mitzi has avidly followed her passion for working with children and families for over 15 years. She brings a diverse background of experience working with youth and families in the juvenile justice system, the child welfare system, schools, hospitals and in the community. Throughout the course of her career, Mitzi has provided in home family counseling, completed mental health assessments for adolescents, advocated for survivors of domestic violence; worked in an independent living program for youth transitioning out of foster care; interned as a school social worker; advocated for pregnant/parenting teens and served in Americorps.
APPROACH TO COUNSELING
Mitzi is trained is evidence based programs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing as well as family systems theory and strength based and solution focused approaches to counseling. Mitzi works with children, adolescents, families, couples and adults. Mitzi is an experienced therapist and helps clients utilize their strengths and natural support systems to overcome challenges.
