When working with clients, I use a strengths-based approach that utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also value taking a holistic point of view, meaning I want to know how a client is doing in all areas of life: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
I aim to support clients gently, compassionately, and empoweringly on their journey of growth and change. I want clients to feel they've gained useful knowledge and understanding, as well as practical tools and skills to overcome the obstacles holding them back from the life they want. Additionally, spirituality and faith can be incredible sources of strength. I'm comfortable including faith-aspects into our conversations if you so choose.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and my Master's of Social Work from The Ohio State University.
I have experience working with women and families in our local community, many of whom faced numerous barriers and challenges. It was a privilege to join them as they embarked on a new journey in life, helping them realize their dreams and goals along the way.
