Iyesha’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. She works to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and supported as they explore their experiences. She draws from cognitive-behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques to help clients understand what they are feeling, why they are feeling it, and how to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Whether clients are processing trauma, managing anxiety or depression, navigating addiction, or working through major life transitions, Iyesha’s goal is to help them build insight, strengthen coping skills, and feel more grounded and empowered in their daily lives.
Across her career, Iyesha has supported clients in a wide range of clinical and community settings, including crisis centers, outpatient programs, addiction treatment, and behavioral health services. These experiences have shaped her ability to stay calm, present, and supportive even in high-stress situations, and to meet people exactly where they are — whether they are overwhelmed, uncertain, or ready for change.
She has provided mental health and addiction counseling in intensive outpatient programs, completed psychiatric emergency assessments in fast-paced clinical environments, and worked closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure clients receive coordinated, compassionate care. Her work has included crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, CBT-based interventions, and trauma-informed engagement with adults and teens navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
Before becoming a therapist, Iyesha served as a Commissioned Officer, 2LT, in the United States Army. That experience strengthened her ability to remain steady under pressure, communicate clearly, and support individuals through difficult and uncertain moments — qualities that deeply inform her therapeutic style today.
Iyesha currently holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Master of Arts in Individual & Family Development from South Carolina State University.
